Characterize the effects of tcVNS across a full day and repeated use

Determine how transcutaneous cervical vagus nerve stimulation affects appetite and satiety across a full day and over repeated use.

Background

The experiment measured satiety immediately after one controlled snacking episode and found comparable post-eating satiety under tcVNS and sham stimulation. The authors explicitly note that this short-term design does not resolve how stimulation would influence appetite or satiety beyond the single episode. Establishing effects across a full day and under repeated use is necessary to assess whether the intervention has meaningful sustained implications for eating behavior.

References

Because we assessed satiety immediately after a single snacking episode, these findings do not establish how tcVNS would affect appetite or satiety across a full day or over repeated use.
