FDPO behavior near EW-controlled criticality

Characterize the neighborhood of the fluctuation-dominated phase-ordering point when the surface fluctuations are governed by Edwards–Wilkinson dynamics, and determine whether the local FDPO-like scaling found along a KPZ-controlled trajectory persists there.

Background

The paper studies the homogeneous phase near the FDPO critical locus of the unscaled Light–Heavy model. Along one trajectory approaching FDPO, where the surface fluctuations follow KPZ dynamics, the authors find a diverging correlation length and local FDPO-like correlations on scales smaller than that length. They explicitly leave unresolved whether analogous behavior occurs near the critical point when the surface fluctuations instead belong to the Edwards–Wilkinson class.

References

It remains to analyze the neighborhood of the critical point controlled by EW-type surface fluctuations, as well as other trajectories that approach criticality governed by KPZ-type behavior.
