Explain the variability of DISCO performance

Determine the exact cause of the higher variability observed in DISCO’s experimental results relative to the reported reference results.

Background

The benchmark experiments report greater variability in DISCO’s results than in the reference work across many networks. The paper suggests that sensitivity introduced by the multi-head attention mechanism and concatenation of attention heads may contribute, but the experiments do not isolate this effect. Establishing the source of this variability would help clarify the model’s stability and guide architectural improvements.
