Expand the synthetic participatory approach to broader transportation planning processes

Investigate how to expand the synthetic participatory planning approach that leverages LLM-enabled digital avatars beyond SAEMS planning to broader transportation planning processes that integrate land use and mobility and operate across multi-phase municipal planning cycles.

Background

The case study focuses specifically on SAEMS within Montreal, while the city concurrently develops a comprehensive Land Use and Mobility Plan to 2050. The paper notes the narrower scope of the case study relative to the city’s official planning process.

Extending the synthetic participatory framework to encompass broader transportation planning would test its scalability and applicability to integrated land use–mobility decision contexts.
