Establish whether the −7.26 km s⁻¹ OH feature has a Zeeman counterpart and magnetic-field response

Establish whether the 1.665 GHz OH feature at v₁.₆₆₅L = −7.26 km s⁻¹ has an identifiable right- or left-circularly polarized Zeeman counterpart and determine whether its magnetic field varied in response to the 2015 NGC 6334I-MM1 accretion event.

Background

The paper detects changes in the magnetic field inferred from another OH Zeeman pair before and after the 2015 accretion event. However, the −7.26 km s⁻¹ OH feature lacks a reliably identified counterpart, likely because of weak emission or blending with other OH features.

Consequently, the authors cannot test whether this feature experienced a corresponding magnetic-field variation. Spatially resolved observations and improved spectral separation would be needed to resolve the issue.

References

Regrettably, no RCP counterpart was found for $v_\textrm{1.665L} = -7.26$\,-1. Ergo, we are unable to find variations in the $B$-field as the accretion event occurred in MM1.
