Implication from failure of the elementary divisor property

Determine whether failure of the elementary divisor property in a Bézout domain necessarily implies failure of the lcm splitting property.

Background

The paper gives two elementary divisor domains that fail lcm splitting, but this does not establish the converse relationship. The unresolved issue is whether every Bézout domain lacking the elementary divisor property must also lack lcm splitting.

There is a correspondence between B{e}zout domains and lattice ordered (abelian) groups. Is there an %(well studied?) analog of lcm splitting for lattice ordered groups?
