Determine whether SGR 1935+2154 emits weak periodic radio radiation at 110 MHz

Determine whether SGR 1935+2154 produces weak pulsar-like periodic radio emission at approximately 110 MHz, given the sub-threshold pulse peak observed when the LPA data are folded at its known rotation period of 3.24781628 s.

Background

The paper searches Large Phased Array observations of SGR 1935+2154 obtained during March–May and September–November 2020 for periodic, pulsar-like emission. The data are folded both with a standard period-derivative-corrected procedure and with a cross-correlation-function-assisted stacking method at the magnetar’s known rotation period of 3.24781628 s.

Both approaches yield a weak pulse feature, but its signal-to-noise ratio is below the adopted detection threshold of 6: the standard folding gives S/N = 2.70, while the CCF-assisted profile gives S/N < 3.16. The authors therefore do not regard the feature as a secure detection, although they explicitly leave unresolved whether it represents extremely faint periodic emission at meter wavelengths.

Hence we cannot claim unequivocally that pulsar-like radiation from SGR 1935 exists at $\sim$110 MHz, but the presence of a weaker signal cannot be excluded.
