Determine the physical metric of an astrophysical wormhole

Determine the specific spacetime metric governing an astrophysical traversable wormhole, including the strong-field geometry needed to calculate matter and plasma dynamics near its throat.

Background

The paper develops a phenomenological description using only the wormhole’s mass, angular momentum, and absence of an event horizon. However, the authors emphasize that these quantities do not uniquely specify the strong-field plasma dynamics. The inner-edge specific energy and angular momentum, electromagnetic four-potential, magnetic stresses, and outflow properties depend on a stationary, axisymmetric wormhole metric.

Resolving the metric question is necessary for replacing the paper’s Newtonian outer-flow classification with a self-consistent relativistic treatment of the throat region and for determining the observable signatures of the proposed disk-like outflows through metric-specific GRMHD calculations.

References

The main difficulty in searching for wormholes is that we don't know (unlike black holes) what specific metric a wormhole should have.
