Validation beyond the South China summer monsoon

Validate the TMI framework and its coherence-based applicability screen beyond the South China summer monsoon domain, including cold-season precipitation regimes and other climate–terrain settings.

Background

The empirical evaluation covers Hunan, Guangxi, and Guangdong during the South China summer monsoon, with only limited seasonal transfer analysis involving spring. The paper explicitly identifies autumn and winter regimes, including cold-front precipitation, as untested mechanisms that may introduce additional forms of mechanism mismatch.

Broader validation is needed to determine whether the coherence proxy, TMI boundaries, and mechanism-purity principle generalize to different climate and terrain contexts rather than remaining specific to the South China summer monsoon.
