Confirm superconductivity in Fe–Pd–Te samples

Confirm whether the filamentary superconductivity observed near 7 K in some Fe1−xPd1−yTe samples is intrinsic to the Fe–Pd–Te material rather than caused by impurity phases such as PdTe or PdTe2.

Background

The authors report observing filamentary superconductivity with a critical temperature of approximately 7 K in some Fe1−xPd1−yTe samples. Because PdTe and PdTe2 are superconductors and may occur as impurities, the observation cannot yet be assigned definitively to the Fe–Pd–Te phase itself. The paper explicitly states that further confirmation is required and leaves this issue outside the scope of the reported study.

Indeed, we have observed filamentary superconductivity with superconducting critical temperature of 7~K in some Fe${1-x}$Pd${1-y}$Te samples. This $T_C$ is higher than PdTe or PdTe$_2$ superconductors which might constitute the impurities. This observation still need further confirmation and beyond the scope of this work.
