Computing renormalized couplings in CDT and relating them to FRG

Develop a method to calculate the renormalized coupling constants of the Causal Dynamical Triangulations lattice theory and establish their relation to the renormalized couplings used in Functional Renormalization Group analyses, rather than assuming an identification based on the simplest truncation.

Background

To compare CDT results with FRG predictions, it is necessary to express CDT observables in terms of renormalized couplings and relate them to FRG quantities. The paper currently assumes an identification between CDT and FRG renormalized couplings under the simplest truncation because a direct computation of CDT renormalized couplings is not available.

A robust procedure for computing CDT renormalized couplings would permit quantitative tests of FRG flows and fixed-point structures using lattice data, strengthening the evidence for or against asymptotic safety in four-dimensional quantum gravity.

References

Unfortunately we do not know how to calculate the renormalized coupling constants corresponding to the lattice theory, and as discussed in the main text we just assume that they can be identified with the renormalized coupling constants in the simplest possible FRG model.
