Broaden empirical validation beyond the Linux evaluation

Conduct matched Windows and macOS evaluations, additional provider and framework executions with independent ground truth, direct comparisons with representative observability products, evaluations of stronger whole-system provenance backends under matched workloads, and a controlled human debugging study to characterize ExecWeave’s cross-platform parity, provider coverage, comparative performance, provenance fidelity, and analyst benefit.

Background

ExecWeave v0.8.25 is evaluated primarily on Linux, with one AutoGen–Ollama integration run, targeted synthetic attribution controls, portable-collector sampling measurements, fixed-work overhead measurements, and scoped graph-materialization benchmarks. The paper explicitly limits the conclusions of this campaign and does not infer broader platform, provider, product-comparison, provenance, or human-debugging results from it.

The authors identify matched Windows and macOS experiments, broader real provider and framework executions with independent ground truth, comparisons against representative observability systems, stronger whole-system provenance backends, and controlled human-subject debugging evaluations as necessary follow-up work. These studies would determine whether the evidence contract and implementation generalize beyond the measured Linux configuration and whether the system provides practical benefits to analysts.

The broader evaluation remains future work rather than being inferred from this Linux campaign. Matched Windows/macOS runs, additional provider/framework executions with independent ground truth, direct product comparisons, stronger whole-system provenance backends under the same workload, and a controlled human debugging study are intentionally outside the arXiv v1 scope.
