Presence of Bowen fluorescence lines in AT2024tvd’s optical spectrum

Ascertain whether the Bowen fluorescence features He II λ4686 and N III λ4640 are present in the optical spectrum of AT2024tvd to resolve the spectroscopic classification between the TDE-H+He and TDE-H subtypes.

Background

The authors obtained multiple optical spectra of AT2024tvd and identified a flux excess around 4500–5100 Å that could be due to a combination of broad Hβ and Bowen fluorescence (He II λ4686 and N III λ4640).

However, due to a wavelength gap and noise in the DBSP spectrum, they could not confidently confirm the Bowen lines, leaving the event’s spectroscopic subtype (hydrogen-only vs. hydrogen plus helium) unresolved.

References

However, given that the DBSP spectrum has a wavelength gap and is noisy, we are not able to confidently identify the Bowen features.
