A sheaf Laplacian is a spectral operator arising from a cellular sheaf over a (combinatorial) structure such as a graph, simplicial complex, or hypergraph. Unlike the classical graph Laplacian—which compares scalar signals on nodes via edge adjacencies—the sheaf Laplacian encodes arbitrary local linear constraints, typically via vector-valued stalks and restriction maps that generalize the notion of “agreement” across higher-order relations. Formally, the sheaf Laplacian is constructed using Hodge-theoretic principles and admits a rich spectrum reflecting both topological invariants (via its kernel) and geometric/local features (via positive eigenvalues). The normalized sheaf Laplacian generalizes graph Laplacian symmetrization, defining block-diagonal degree and adjacency operators so that
