Resolution solutions may utilize Nash Social Welfare or Eisenberg-Gale bargaining to select fair or priority-weighted parameter settings across xApps (Wadud et al., 2023). In production, CMF introduces low computational overhead (<5 ms/detection path) and can be hot-patched for extensibility (Adamczyk et al., 2023).

5. Security, Privacy, and Reliability at Runtime

The near-RT RIC architecture, by virtue of its open interfaces (E2, shared data layers), introduces measurable attack surface. Threats are categorized as:

Zero-trust solutions such as ZT-RIC employ functional encryption to ensure that KPM and UE data remain encrypted throughout the E2 and SDL paths, enabling only authorized xApps to compute layer-1 inner products needed for ML inference while preventing raw data exposure—with end-to-end inferencing latency remaining < 1 s at high classification accuracy (Lin et al., 11 Nov 2024).
