1. Haar-Averaging in Functional Model Testing

In regression analysis, especially for Generalized Functional Linear Models (GFLMs), Haar-averaging enables the construction of omnidirectional, rotation-invariant goodness-of-fit tests. 7. Limitations and Norm-Growth of Haar-Averaging Projections

Haar-averaging projections exhibit norm growth phenomena outside optimal parameter ranges in Sobolev and Besov spaces. Uniform boundedness fails when smoothness or integrability parameters lie outside prescribed intervals, and operator norms of Haar-averaging projections grow exponentially or polynomially in the frequency bandwidth (Seeger et al., 2015, Garrigós et al., 2019). Explicit block test-functions reveal divergence of norms, providing sharp delineations for unconditional convergence and basis properties.
