Technical Considerations in Magnetic Analogue Models

Published 21 Jun 2016 in physics.flu-dyn, astro-ph.CO, astro-ph.GA, and gr-qc | (1606.06725v1)

Abstract: The analogy between vorticity and magnetic fields has been a subject of interest to researchers for a considerable period of time, mainly because of the structural similarities between the systems of equations that govern the evolution of the two fields. We recently presented the analysis of magnetic fields and hydrodynamics vorticity fields and argued for a formal theory of analogue magnetism. This article provides in depth technical details of the relevant considerations for the simulation procedures and extends the analyses to a range of fluids.
