Site-Selective Field Emission Source by Femtosecond Laser Pulses and Its Emission Mechanism

Abstract: Recent experimental and theoretical investigations on asymmetric field emission induced by weak femtosecond laser pulses and also its emission mechanisms are briefly reviewed. The emission mechanisms are discussed further for a wider range of DC fields and laser power. It appears that firstly photo-assisted field emission from lower-excitation order grows in the higher DC fields and secondly our simulations can be applied only for lower laser power.
