Shoemaker-Levy 9 Fragment Chain
“July 1994. The shattered Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 strung out as a line of 21 fragments heading toward Jupiter. Each fragment tumbles in tow with its own coma in the foreground, the largest fragments lead the chain, Jupiter looms massive ahead filling the sky banded in orange and white, and impact is moments away.”
