Trustworthy PNT for Heterogeneous Multi-Source Observations

Develop trustworthy broadband LEO PNT processing mechanisms for heterogeneous multi-source observations that integrate integrity monitoring, signal authentication, anomaly detection, and cross-source consistency validation under changing observation quality and potential interference.

Background

High positioning accuracy does not by itself ensure trustworthy PNT because interference, spoofing, insufficient signal authentication, and heterogeneous observation quality can compromise navigation information. Differences in the error characteristics of satellites and information sources also make anomaly detection and consistency validation more difficult.

The paper identifies the unresolved challenge of continuously providing PNT information that is trustworthy and verifiable under complex and dynamic conditions. It specifically connects this problem with the need to combine integrity monitoring, authentication, anomaly detection, and consistency validation for heterogeneous multi-source observations.

Under complex and dynamic conditions, effectively integrating these capabilities while continuously providing trustworthy and verifiable PNT information in the presence of changing observation quality and potential interference remains an open issue.
