Transferability to Other VRP Scales and Distributions

Determine whether the behaviour-based GPGLS population-management policies evaluated in BN-GPGLS transfer effectively to vehicle routing instances with scales or distributions different from the generated 200-customer instances used in the study.

Background

The evaluation considers one parameter configuration, one training-batch sequence, and one family of generated capacitated vehicle-routing instances with 200 customers. Although BN-Adaptive and BN-SizeAware show favourable descriptive results within this setting, the study does not establish whether the observed routing-quality and tree-size effects generalise to other instance scales or demand and customer-position distributions. The transferability of the behaviour-based GPGLS policies therefore remains unresolved.

References

Transfer to other scales or distributions remains untested.
