Accumulation of spherical singularities at a cylindrical singularity

Determine whether a sequence of spherical singularities can converge to a cylindrical singularity in mean curvature flow.

Background

The paper relates firecracker behavior to another conjectural phenomenon involving the limiting behavior of singularities. The unresolved issue is whether spherical singularities may accumulate at, or converge to, a cylindrical singularity.
