Recover the remaining Agent Reports performance gap

Develop a KV-cache reuse repair method for the Agent Reports transfer track that recovers the approximately one-third of the performance gap left unclaimed after the best evaluated repairs, CacheBlend and RelayCaching.

Background

The Agent Reports track evaluates reuse of reports generated by specialist agents and transferred to a coordinator as independently encoded KV caches. Because the reports are assembled in a new context, their cached representations suffer from positional misalignment and missing cross-report attention connections.

In the reported experiments, only CacheBlend and RelayCaching—both of which perform recomputation—significantly exceed the free position-alignment baseline. Their performance nevertheless leaves roughly one-third of the gap to dense recomputation unrecovered, while trained and compression-based methods do not improve over the free baseline. The authors therefore identify further quality recovery on this track as an unresolved challenge.

Only the two repairs that spend recompute clear the free-alignment bar: CacheBlend ($+.11$) and RelayCaching ($+.08$, repairing decoded KV handed between agents), statistically tied for first, with a third of the gap still unclaimed---an open challenge.
