Background

The paper considers optical lattices formed by combining fractal geometries, such as Sierpiński carpets, with disclination defects produced through sector addition or removal. Prior research had extensively examined disclination lattices and fractal lattices separately, but systematic investigation of their integration was described as comparatively scarce. The unresolved issue concerns which physical phenomena and modal properties arise from this combined geometric structure, motivating the paper’s analysis of vortex arrays and vortex-soliton arrays in disclination-fractal configurations.
