Resonant dynamics of outer-vacuum vortices

Investigate the dynamical behavior and resonance phenomena of outer-vacuum vortices arising from crossings among their Derrick-type and Type-B internal modes, including the possible scattering outcomes of different vortex species.

Background

The fluctuation spectrum of outer-vacuum vortices contains multiple Derrick-type modes and numerous Type-B modes. Unlike the corresponding inner-vacuum vortices, these modes cross one another, suggesting possible resonant energy transfer and substantially richer time-dependent behavior.

The paper analyzes the static spectra and identifies the mode crossings but does not study the resulting nonlinear dynamics, resonance processes, or scattering. The authors explicitly defer this analysis to future research.

For this reason, the dynamics of outer-vacuum vortices deserves further investigation. However, a detailed analysis lies beyond the scope of the present work and is left for future research.

This degeneration can lead to resonances that drastically change the dynamics. It would therefore be interesting to investigate the dynamics of the different vortex species and their possible scattering outcomes. This analysis is left for future work.
