Incorporation of PFPCs into the JWST pipeline

Determine whether and how the JWST MIRI Medium Resolution Spectrometer Point Fixed Pattern Corrections can be incorporated into the JWST data-reduction pipeline.

Background

The PFPCs are currently distributed through the MRS-PFPC Python package and require non-standard processing alongside the JWST pipeline. Their applicability is tied to the pipeline version, reference files, and processing algorithms used to derive them.

The paper notes that future pipeline integration would need to account for these dependencies and determine an appropriate implementation strategy. Whether such integration is feasible and what form it should take is left unresolved.
