Experimental measurement of electron mobility in TMBi

Determine the electron mobility of liquid Trimethyl-Bismuth experimentally, rather than estimating it from the empirical relationship between zero-field free ion yield and electron mobility measured in other dielectric liquids.

Background

The paper reports an estimated electron mobility for liquid Trimethyl-Bismuth of approximately 0.110 cm² V⁻¹ s⁻¹, derived from the measured zero-field free ion yield and an empirical correlation established for other dielectric liquids. However, the estimate is not a direct measurement of electron transport in TMBi. A direct experimental determination would establish whether the inferred mobility and the associated predictions for timing resolution and detector dead time are accurate.

References

Though the electron mobility in TMBi has not yet been measured, an estimate can be obtained from the relation observed between known $(G0_{\rm fi}\; , \;\mu_e)$ pairs from other dielectric liquids.
