Direct experimental validation of the many-excitation Tavis–Cummings emission theory

Establish a direct connection between the group-theoretic many-excitation Tavis–Cummings theory of polaritonic emission and experimental observations of the predicted blue shift.

Background

The paper develops a group-theoretic treatment of the Tavis–Cummings model with arbitrary numbers of two-level emitters and excitations, deriving eigenstate structure, selection rules, and emission-energy predictions. In the fast-dephasing regime, the theory predicts a blue shift of the emission peak toward the cavity energy as excitation density increases.

The authors note that this predicted blue shift has already been observed experimentally, but they do not establish a direct quantitative or mechanistic correspondence between their theoretical model and those experiments. They explicitly leave this validation and connection for future work.
