Determine whether IRS1 hosts a rotating disk

Determine whether the gas-phase complex-organic-molecule emission around BHR71-IRS1 traces a rotating disk.

Background

The central component of BHR71-IRS1 exhibits a modest southeast–northwest velocity gradient in the principal-component-weighted position–velocity diagram. Although this structure is consistent with previously reported methanol kinematics and suggests gas-phase complex organic molecules near the outflow axis, the observations do not establish that the emission arises from a disk.

The unresolved disk question is relevant to interpreting the inner structure and rotational dynamics of the protostellar system.

References

The presence of a rotating disk has not been confirmed yet, but these results imply the presence of gas-phase COMs around the outflow axis.
