Determine stability at higher α′ orders for the anti-D3-brane background

Determine the stability of the non-supersymmetric open string background solution describing a stack of p anti-D3-branes at the tip of the Klebanov–Strassler throat beyond order α′2, by extending the open-string solution to higher orders in the large-radius expansion and computing the resulting g_s and α′ corrections within open–closed superstring field theory.

Background

The authors construct a perturbative open-string background for p anti-D3-branes in the KS throat up to third order in the large-radius expansion, corresponding to an α′3/2 correction in the open string background and an α′2 order in the spacetime action, reproducing the KPV metastability in this controlled regime.

A full assessment of stability requires higher-order corrections. Precisely determining whether the non-supersymmetric configuration remains metastable when additional α′ and g_s corrections are included is crucial for understanding the robustness of KKLT-like constructions and the role of anti-D3-branes in flux compactifications.

The determination of the stability up to higher orders in the $\alpha'$ is an important problem left for future work.
