Constrain sulphur depletion in shock tracers

Constrain the sulphur depletion level in the shocked or post-shocked gas traced by OCS component 1, CCS, and H2CS component 2 in the central molecular zone of NGC 253.

Background

The models test both a moderately depleted and a heavily depleted elemental sulphur abundance. Different sulphur-bearing species favour different depletion levels, but the shock parameters associated with OCS and CCS cannot be constrained sufficiently to select a depletion scenario for those tracers. This leaves the sulphur depletion level in their emitting shocked or post-shocked regions unresolved.

Since we could not put any constraints on the type of shocks probed by OCS or CCS, we are not able to constrain the sulphur depletion level for these species.
