Automate verification of functional-equation systems

Develop and validate automated procedures for checking the unique determination, consistency, and compatibility with the initial values S_{\cdot,\cdot}(0)=1 of the functional-equation systems produced by the search algorithm, thereby reducing manual verification of redundant systems.

Background

The paper reports that verifying unique determination and consistency of the generated functional-equation systems by hand is time-consuming. In particular, checking compatibility with the initial values requires substantial manual effort. The authors identify automation as a possible continuation and explicitly condition its usefulness on whether such automation is possible, leaving the feasibility of this development unresolved.
