Attested trusted-execution mediation for decryption keys

Construct a mediation mechanism that binds a decryption key to an attested trusted execution environment so that plaintext-releasing computations remain within the attested boundary.

Background

The paper distinguishes cryptographic confinement of operations from control over released plaintext. Once plaintext is exposed, ordinary cryptographic mechanisms cannot retract or control its subsequent use.

It identifies trusted execution environments as a possible mediation mechanism for keeping plaintext inside an attested boundary, but no such construction is provided.
