Extend the clustering-completion method to evolving correlation functions

Develop an adaptation of the galaxy-catalog completion method for gravitational-wave dark-siren cosmology that incorporates a galaxy two-point correlation function evolving with redshift, thereby extending the method beyond the low-redshift approximation in which the correlation function is assumed to be redshift-independent.

Background

The catalog-completion method reconstructs missing galaxies by assigning them to redshift shells and sky pixels according to probabilities derived from the galaxy two-point correlation function. Throughout the analysis, the correlation function is assumed not to depend on redshift. The paper states that this is a reasonable approximation for the studied range, z < 0.1, but that it ceases to be valid at higher redshifts. A redshift-dependent implementation would therefore be needed to apply the method beyond the low-redshift regime and to model the evolution of galaxy clustering more realistically.
