“A star being torn apart by a supermassive black hole. The star stretches into an elongated spaghetti-like stream of plasma in the foreground as it spirals in, a brilliant flare of UV and X-ray emission erupts where the stream forms an accretion disk, the rest of the star whips out in a tidal tail, and the central black hole's event horizon is silhouetted against the disk.”
