Abstract: Oscillons are long-lived, localized, oscillating nonlinear excitations of a real scalar field which can be abundantly produced during preheating after inflation. We give the first $(3+1)$-dimensional simulation for the oscillon formation during preheating with noncanonical kinetic terms, e.g. the Dirac-Born-Infeld form, and find that the formation of oscillons is significantly influenced by the noncanonical effect.
