An AI-based music demixing web app has been launched which allows users to separate different instruments from a music recording into stems. The web application, which runs locally in the browser, uses a near-state-of-the-art AI model, Open-Unmix, with UMX-L pretrained weights to decompose a song into bass, drums, vocals and other elements.
The app is free to use with no usage limits and doesn't store users' data. It performs well on computers but slowly on smartphones. Users can only use the outputs for non-commercial applications. The app can handle almost any audio format, but the outputs are always stereo wav files at 44100 Hz.
