Confetti
Small collisions, larger patterns.
Circles, triangles, and squares start scattered through a grid of rooms. Walls weaken with each hit and eventually break; larger shapes do more damage. Shapes collide along their edges and corners, and off-center impacts can set them spinning.
At a distance, only matching shapes interact: similar colors attract, while very different colors repel. These forces reach across walls, grow with area, and weaken with distance. Different shapes simply bounce on contact. Matching shapes merge when they touch, combining their areas and blending their hues in proportion to their area. Colors stay vivid as they change, which changes the forces between shapes too. A gentle speed boost keeps slow objects moving as the crowd thins.
When just one of each shape remains, they burst outward together from their own positions. Each releases smaller copies of its own kind, restoring the original counts and colors. Any remaining internal walls disappear, and after a brief outward burst, interactions resume in open space. The cycle repeats within the fixed outer frame.
If a combined shape would be too large for the frame, the pair bounces instead. Resizing the grid, including when fullscreen changes its dimensions, starts a new run.
