What changed
GPT-3.5 wrote an ad you could read aloud; Astra wrote one you could actually post. The 2022 answer is smooth but hollow. It promises “cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries” and “competitive salaries, benefits,” yet never names a language, a task, a location or a way to apply. Astra builds a usable listing: concrete duties like “APIs, data pipelines, and integrations,” named languages, and bracketed slots for salary, location and an application link.
The two also aim at different candidates. GPT-3.5 demands “a deep understanding of AI technologies,” while Astra asks only for “an interest in AI” and says ML experience is “a plus, not a requirement,” which widens the pool considerably. In fairness, GPT-3.5’s version is finished and pasteable as is, whereas Astra’s needs filling in. Both share the same tired tagline about building “the future of AI,” so neither wins on originality.
